Transformers 2007

Last one week or so, this movie has been the talk of the town.. That's right,it's of course Transformers. My friends and colleagues talked about it when we met up, my kids pestered me to bring them ever since it was released.

Finally I brought them to watch it over the weekend at Shaw Centrepoint. Man, I think it was a full house and I admit I had not stepped into a cinema for many months. It felt kinda weird when you suddenly found yourself sitting amidst so many people.

Funny, I don't really remember watching this cartoon when I was as kid. I just had pieces of memory here and there. That's why I found it hard to relate as my impression of it is so little. I know I never missed watching it with my brother but I just can't remember the details at all.

Well, many people say this is the movie of the year so far, so I was kind of expecting a great show. Well, the computer graphics are awesome I admit, however, the storyline just sucks, and there are a few scene where the ideas looked so copied from other films. So how can it be the movie of the year when its just pure actions thrown in with some humour?

But my kids certainly enjoyed that! But I think this film will remain in the memory of many people as a very successful commercial movie.

Marie Callas website

There is a Marie Callas website out there. Finally it's good to see Marie's website. The colour of the site is dark on colour but the font is clear enough to be seen and read. You can see her picture too if you are wondering how she looks like.

The news is that if you from Malaysia, Australia or UK, then you can receive a free Marie Callas talisman if you tell her your date of birth and name. I think Marie Callas is using some numerology and astrology techniques she is good at to personalise a talisman specially for you based on the info you have submitted. That's why I know of because I have a talisman of hers and I carry it around all the time to bring good luck. It works certainly for my case.

Nature in the City

marie callas treeIt's good to see a plot of green trees still swaying relaxing to the winds near a project site I'm supervising. I had it shot with my poor phone cam when I saw it because it made my impatient mood that day better. Maybe due to the extreme hot and humid mid year weather over here in this country.

It's a good feeling to know there is a small amount of nature still around in the city area. I really hope they will always be there adding some cool shades and make ups to our drab city scape.

Yoga, anyone?

Yoga is an ancient Indian art that helps create a sense of union in body, mind, and spirit. It brings us balance spiritually and it an excellent way to improve ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually.

There are really many benefits and it's an great exercise if you are not the type who likes more strenuous sports like jogging, swimming, or ball games. It also helps you to be more calm and positive as it channels the positive energy through your body, and focuses on the concept of "oneness".

I realise more and more people are practising yoga around me, especially my colleagues who stay back after office hours to practise yoga for an hour or so before going off. I think they look better are some sessions, and I compliment them for their efforts.

Those trees

marie callas treesHave you ever sat down and actually looked at your surroundings, like those trees, plants, flowers, birds, insects or simply ever notice the scavenging street dogs and cats?

Just a simple suggestion, say when you have a chance to enjoy your lunch or breakfast under a big shady tree, look at it, appreciate its presence there for providing the shade that allows you to enjoy your food in a cooler place. You will really find its beauty and its role in our life. It's teeming with life, just observe.

Take a moment to appreciate nature's lines, even if the greeneries are man-made. One thing though, there is just not enough greenery in our city areas. It's getting scorching hot every afternoon. I just wish there are more trees around, but sadly, more are giving up their places to make way for the rampant development here. It's a tragedy, humans have taken so much from the nature and have given so little back.

Vedic Astrology

Ever since I got to know Marie Callas, I have taken a great interest in stuffs related to spirituality and para physics. I think they are fascinating, very much necessary even at this advanced age, generally because, humans, no matter one thousand years ago, present, or one thousands years in the future, will always remain similar as they are all spiritual in nature. At certain stages of their lives, humans will learn to seek to know about their spiritual roots, no matter whether they are very successful or mediocre.

So here I am, learning something about astrology, spirituality and stuff like that. I'm neither successful or mediocre, nor am I a religious Indian as compared to some of my friends. I think I've lost of my Indian roots as we speak only English, or "Malglish" if you know what I mean!

Today I read a book about Vedic astrology which has nearly 6000 years of ancient Indian history. The four Vedas, Yajur Veda, Rig Veda, Sama Veda and Atharva Veda are scriptures from the ancient India with full range of information in various aspects of humanity like philosophy, spirituality, religion, art and science. They show the complete way of life. Vedic Astrology is also called Jyotish or the Science of Light and was first mentioned in Rig Veda.

The centre or fundamentals of Vedic astrology is the theme of Karma which is a reward or punishment for our actions. A Vedic horoscope reveals the past (which is unchangeable), and what is coming in the future. Vedic Astrologers consider the horoscope to be a draft of our problems, our talents, and attachments, in addition to our tendencies. It also tells us how good Karma can be accumulated.

The written proofs left behind by the Vedic astrologers display that the rising and setting of the planets and the stars were due to the movement of the earth and this concept was centuries ahead of medieval Europeans which regarded Earth as flat! These astrologers had great visions, intuition and psychic abilities and these made them important figures in the ancient Indian civilisations.

I think I shouldn't go much into the details as there is a limitation of what I can comprehend. The above is just based on my own understanding but I hope as I learn, I will become more spiritual.

Spiritual Healing

We are all made of the same stuff, we are part of the stars and universe. We will never be destroyed but will only change form. This is a true fact. We are the energy too. So, spiritual is quite literally everywhere, whether you believe it or not.

This brings us to Spiritual Healing which is simply a process of going within to see our essence as the beauty, innocence, and love, and then acknowledge it, appreciate it, honour it, and bless it, within ourselves. Simply sentence but it's a whole load of knowledge behind this.

Spiritual healing begins from our within. There are many ways and not one path is the “correct way.” It is “correct” according to your agreement with your soul and the lessons it came to learn on this planet.

Spiritual Healing will occur when you and your soul agree together, to make the choice to see it. It happens in an instant. It can take a lifetime, or a second to get there, but once you see it you will never see yourself, other people, places or things the same again.
